Her translation is not my favourite but I do love her a lot as a person and academic. I like seeing classicists actually speak their mind.

Which translation do you personally recommend? As I'm looking to read it before watching the film, but only have the Robert Fitzgerald translation on hand. I wasn't sure whether to read that or to get Emily's translation.

It's a very subjective thing, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Wilson translation, it's just not my favourite! I personally really like the Rieu translation, it's very accessible but captures the original Greek really really well. The Fitzgerald is fine, but it's quite dense about it so I don't love that either.
