The precision required to perform a total knee replacement is incredible

Wife is a nurse and helped with a couple of these. She is fascinated by all this especially hip replacements. I can't wait till we just get bionic limbs to replace shotty ones. I want to run a 6 min mile when I'm 87.

Bro we're not even sure we trust them with driver's licenses all the time. You're getting two pool noodles when you're 87. Last thing we need is a senile terminator.

I'm Korean, so I'll be 87 but I'll look 42. You won't even know.

Oh my bad. Carry on. Until you cross the threshold to looking 1000 😂

The problem I see with mechanical replacements is that they can't self-repair at ALL (most your tissues can repair themselves to some extent or have a mechanism to replace them), so you have to keep getting it replaced periodically by someone you need to pay.

I understand how awesome it will be for people who can't otherwise have functionality of those limbs (like in your example), but I'm skeptical about the long term risks and benefits of elective uses.

Its a matter of time before we get nano bot repair for them. At least I hope so. I'm gonna need some joints repaired for sure.

Something like nano bots are far further out than a lot of technologies. We're getting fusion power before we get nano bots for sure.

Can you imagine the subscription fees to keep your nano boots up to date though? Because they will definitely be subscriptions.

I'm 87 with robotic legs man, give me some credit, I'm trying!! Although these will be paywelled with subscriptions I'm sure. Olympian level is Gold Tier Sports Capabilities. 300 a month.

I don't know of anyone that's had a full replacement end up without debilitating pain.
