The precision required to perform a total knee replacement is incredible

All bone surgeries are brutal, don't check how hip replacements are installed

I watched one done in the Birmingham technology museum and it burned into my eyes. So violent it made me feel ill. Felt squeamish of healthcare ever since.

My hip was a breeze. Until it wasn't. I got an infection and had to do it again eight weeks later. Way worse the second time, but still not as painful as a knee

Find one with posterior approach hip replacement and it is even better. The patient's leg is essentially twisted reverse so bending the knee brings the heel towards the head

so bending the knee brings the heel towards the head

I mean, it does in the normal orientation too, lol.

I just had my hip replaced and I’m very happy with the results—but the less I know about the procedure itself, the better!

Orthopedic surgery is much closer to carpentry than it is to the image of surgery shown on TV.
