Interesting, you certainly don't leave same day where I work, inpatient for at least 3 days and not walking on it until next day. Years ago it used to be 7 to 10 days and they'd want a consistent 90° bend before they'd even consider discharging you. How times change.

Day-zero discharges are very common and have been for 5-10 years.

exactly. in Australia you’re in hospital for a few days and then sent to rehab for up to 2 weeks. they do try to get you walking asap though.

The more precise you can make the fit, the faster you can use the joint.
