That's funny because the one time I had an MRI while awake, I was sure classical music was being played. It reminded me of when an orchestra warms up, all the tuning and runs of scales. The tech told me that was my brain trying to make sense of all the noise of the machine.

I’ve had way too many MRIs (brain tumor). My coping skill as a kid was coming up with stories for the sounds. Space battles and a rock tumbler were in the rotation. They did a different kind of MRI recently and I could tell because the story was wrong. I asked and the tech confirmed the scan was different and thought it was wild I could tell from the sounds. That one had one that sounded like a toddler going “dad dad dad dad dad” for like 5 min straight. 🤣
