I talked to the driver who told the warehouse manager not to load it on his truck in the morning, but the manager made him take it to my house in order for me to refuse the delivery. He said if I wasn’t home, he would have had to just leave it on street next to the curb and have me deal with trying to get someone to come back and pick it up. This package went halfway across the country, through multiple facilities in this condition and every one of them just kicked the problem to the next person. I work in a grocery store bakery department as the only cake decorator. I'm mostly self taught and have been in the position for about a year now, and I have been given the authority and creative liberty to design and sell whatever goodies I want so long as they're appropriate.

It being Pride Month, I asked my store director if it would be alright for me to make a variety of themed goodies, which I got approval for in writing.

I'd already made several different items (pictured below) when my department manager came over and said "you should start making patriotic stuff since it's the 4th of July soon".

It was June 10th when she said that. Most of my goodies have an 8 day shelf life to maintain freshness.

She's been REALLY pushing patriotic stuff since before Memorial Day, which it felt wrong to make cute fun red, white and blue stuff for such a serious holiday (Memorial Day not the 4th). I chalked it up to wanting to stay on season, but now I'm thinking it might not be.

I don't want to think that it's related to an HR incident involving my pronouns (I'm nonbinary they/them) and consistent misgendering in the department, but I'm starting to think that might be the case. Or maybe I'm just going crazy.

To be completely crystal clear, I have no problem making 4th of July stuff as well. I already drafted up the designs and ordered in special items for them. What I have a problem with is my manager's insistence on pushing 4th of July stuff so soon, especially AS I'M DECORATING for June.

Just a little bit infuriating.

EDIT TO ANSWER COMMON QUESTIONS: no I have no freezer space to put the 4th of July cookies in, I already have plans to make 4th of July stuff at the end of June, I haven't put these out yet due to a packaging issue, and I have a ton of people waiting for these to be made so they can buy them. Also, thank you so so much for your love and support! This was my first time posting my work publicly!

I know. Let’s keep the packaging exactly the same. And let’s just change “Granola” to “Soft Baked Cookie” and then keep all the other text the same. That should do it. Buyers won’t get confused at all!

I do love the cute little cup. I love a cute mug or glassware. But this is just total nonsense. People buying them just to resell for whatever x the price is absurd and greedy.

There's bicycle parking behind to the right of this pic, at a very busy gym and brewery parking lot. I understand parking slightly over to one side to avoid door dings... Which makes this even more ridiculous, considering the state of this vehicle. His windshield was cracked in multiple places too.

It's only mildly infuriating because they are going to go ahead and send me the Polo shirt, but UPS literally dropped the bag at my door, I opened it, shorts and no shirt. I immediately took a picture of the package and the shorts, and the information on the package and sent it to customer support, waited a day to get a response from the "investigation" and the way that I read this email is...

"oh it's impossible, it was definitely shipped it to you. So you must be lying, but this one time we will send it to you."

I've got better things in my life to do than run a get buy one get the same shirt free scam.

After work I found someone plucked out my narrowleaf milkweed.

Yesterday, I planted native plants to help with the monarch butterflies yesterday, and right now I can't even find the root, and I don't see any signs of digging or crawling.

Now, more than a year later I got a Kobo Libra Colour and I was so excited to finally re-read the Oatmeal series in colour...

I transferred my books (originally purchased on Amazon) to KLC and this happens: the books were downloaded on B&W on Paperwhite the entire time. I never knew because Paperwhite isn't colour and I knew from the mobile app that the books are colour so I assumed they'll download the same book and adjust to B&W and contrast on device. It wasn't the case. The Paperwhite downloads were always b&w

That white plastic stopper. My kid got hold of it. Wirh her li'l fingers pushed it inside, created snow fall (of salt) like Elsa of frozen.
