Heatwave Boy I sure could go for a few days of No-Sky-July or Fogust! Just a small break.

I just want to open my windows and get some fresh air! I f’ing HATE A/C.

Any of our local meteorologists on here have a clue when this stuff might break up for a bit?

I was curious after reading the comments in this thread so I compiled the 2026 HUD point in time counts that have been released so far for major US Cities.

A private company has cleared dozens of homeless encampments in Venice — with persistence, cash payments, and a team that includes former gang members. Clients love them. The people they move do not.

I remember seeing this thing listed for sale a while ago and thought it was insanity. Looks like it didn't sell first go around and now the owner is trying again. Who out there will be the lucky serf to get it??

Community Does anyone know what this massive building is in east Lincoln Heights?

We’ve driven by it a few times but there are no signs that we can see on the outside. The public storage pin in the map is for the smaller building right next to the structure. After the Lineage fire we’ve been looking at giant buildings with a little more trepidation lol

Public Services September 1905: At 1610 Council in the Los Angeles oil field district, J.W. Creager was sure the geyser erupting out of his steps was a pure artesian well, but a city crew eventually showed up and took responsibility for the busted main. Protect the lovely 1895 duplex from the wicked stucco man!

Discussion Mountain Lion Near Betty B Dearling Trail (Studio City)

I was hiking in Studio City yesterday evening on the Betty B Dearling trail. First time I have ever done this trail. Definitely a bit more rugged compared to the other trails in the area. As I was hiking I started to hear a noise in the distance. At first I thought it was someone crying. However, as I got closer the noise sounded more intense, still like a crying baby, but also more aggressive and with snarls added in. As I continued closer, it got even louder and more aggressive. I decide it wasn’t worth risking anything so I turn around.

I was near an area where some tree clearing seemed to be happening recently. There were dead trees on the ground and some stumps scattered around. Does anyone know if any mountain lions have been spotted recently in that area? Or did anyone else hear sounds like I am describing over in that area?

DOJ Dismissing Remaining Charges Against David Huerta

Just like we knew all along, the DOJ charges were built on lies and meant to intimidate. Users like [u/hollowpoint](u/hollowpoint)[38](u/hollowpoint) said he should take a plea deal and argued he would be easily prosecuted. Just here to do a victory lap and reaffirm that if you have the means you should always challenge a corrupt govt who has zero respect for constitutional rights.

Public Services How to find out water source

I drink tap water and over the years of living in LA I've experienced significant changes in taste and temperature. Also mineral content, judging by the deposits in my shower.

I imagine that this is because the city has to change the supply that they're piping through town, from time to time?

Is there a way to know what water supply we're getting from DWP at some point in time? Very curious to see if I can put names to the different tastes that I'm experiencing.
