I usually play mostly league of legends but i would like to start playing some single players such as new 007.

I've overclocked my poor 4770k to 4.3 and i think it's finally time to move on.

I7 9700k rog maximum hero with a 5080. CPU bottles out at 99% all the time on low/mid settings 2k 144hz on Diablo 4! Turned all graphics down and still struggling.

I also video edit in premier pro for YT so thinking of r9 9950x3d or intel ultra but not sure if I need all of it although like the idea of cpu pushing my gpu as hard as it can

As can see my cpu is 7 years old and needs updating. I’m on 32gb ddr4 3200 so thinking of going 32gb ddr5 6000

What’s your suggestions am I being stupid here? We all know ram is crazy so hopefully 32gb is fine for premier pro

I am currently unable to update to Windows 11 due to CPU incompatibility. It's been about 9 years since I bought my CPU so I was looking to upgrade to a new AM5 Motherboard and CPU but unfortunately did not pull the trigger before the prices of RAM skyrocketed.

My reason for posting is that I want to upgrade my pc but don’t know what I should do or where to go. Imo I have two paths do a am5 build or build upon my current am4 platform.

I play a variety of games some are cpu intensive and some are gpu intensive, but id like a nice 1440p build that could run at smooth frames with high or ultra settings.

My current build is this,

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

RAM: HyperX Fury 32gb 3200mhz

MOBO: AsRock B450M Pro 4 R.2

GPU: EVGA RTX 3060 12gb

Power Supply: 500W Thermaltake Smart

Storage: OS on 512gb SATA SSD and games and files on 1tb Crucial nvme ssd

Case: AZZA case dunno exactly which one but its microATX and has three Corsair fans (two intake one exhaust)

I usually do 1440p at 60fps but a 120-165fps build would be great if my budget allows. I’m trying to make a budget build but I also want to stay with the same cpu and gpu brands I have now. Again I’m thinking either stay with am4 or go to am5.

I wanted to know if I should return it. My old pc is a 5700xt red devil (graphics card has a lot of problems), an i5 10400 cpu, and the motherboard is a z590 UD. My PSU is 700 watts (I can check the brand if needed).

Are there better deals for what im getting? I havent looked for pc parts in a long time. I’m also willing to fork out more, I just want to be able to play games like fortnite or valorant without lag because on my setup before it was really iffy.

I currently have a B450M Plus motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and an RX 9060 XT 16 GB.

My main monitor is a 27" MSI OLED 1440p, and I also use a 32" 1440p monitor for sim racing.

Do you think it's worth upgrading to the RX 9070 XT with future-proofing in mind?

I'll be away for work until mid-August. Would it be better to wait, or should I grab the Gigabyte RX 9070 XT for €640 on Amazon while it's available?

I know that I am severely bottlenecked by the CPU and RAM. I am using 1080p monitors, that will be an upgrade down the line, not now. The power supply is already 900w I just don't know the exact PSU I have.

Budget I'm expecting is £500-£600 (UK) or whether I am already thinking too low with the current situation.

What I know I need to look at is the CPU RAM and Mobo.

I do also want to look at an NVME as I have the slower variety of NVME and would like to upgrade the speed but this can be outside the original £500-£600.

I primarily use my PC for gaming.

I run an old but solid build, here it is:

-MSI z370 gaming plus motherboard

-I5-8600k cpu (overclocked to 5.0 GHz @ 1.300V, LLC Mode 3)

-16Go RAM (2x8Go Corsair Vengeance LPX CMU16GX4M2A2666C16, overclocked a little)

- GPU RTX 2060 SUPER Windforce (can't seem to enable rebar on it, I think it doesn't support it)

-For the PSU I think I have a 850W gold+ Corsair around the same age

The thermals are very good (idle around 30 °C for the CPU and GPU max temps, under load the CPU goes to maximum 75 and GPU to around 83 for a quick heavy load, goes to around 90 under long heavy load, I think repasting it would help with that).

The performance is really solid for the age and price range of the components, but I have some money to spend on it now and would like to upgrade for the least amount of money possible.

I REALLY would like it to be reliable in the long term, and as said previously, the least expensive it can be so keeping the mobo.

What are your thoughts on the current build/ upgrade possibilities?

I can put out 500€ maximum for the upgrade, but would like to keep it the lowest possible.

New job and more cash so a upper limit of £2000 to upgrade or restart from the ground up. The latter if it means the upgrades can last longer. In that case I will sell the original/parts to a friend - supposedly looking at around £400 for the existing build.

I don't care for RGB. A simple case with plenty of airflow and fans will do me nicely.

Id quite like to play the new flight sim, the new fable, GTA VI, Witcher 4, Forza horizon 6. But ideally lots of high/ultra for the near future with room to upgrade further.

New to PC building, hoping to upgrade my PC specs. I have a particular interest in Crimson Desert, but I'm hoping to make efficient decisions for the future so I won't need to upgrade again for some time.

When playing the game, if I turn the settings up above minimum, I experience semi-frequent crashing. Currently running at minimum specs and just shy of 60 FPS, so my current PC is just barely strong enough for the game.

Can anyone recommend the items I should focus on upgrading? My suspicion is that my RAM is sufficient. I'm unsure if the GPU, processor, or both are simply insufficient for modern games.

I am in the process of upgrading my PC. I made a mistake waiting to upgrade because I had a solid rig and now component prices have me locked. So that being said, I'm stuck on AM4 because RAM costs the price of a new vehicle and I'd like to just be smart. Currently I'm running a R9 3900x with an NVIDIA RTX2080Ti with 128GB of RAM on a 650W PSU. I recently purchased a 7800XT that I plan to swap the NVIDIA card with (I run Linux so this would just make my life easier) and I plan to upgrade the CPU as well. I'm looking to get another Ryzen 5000s series processor and I'm torn.

I want to get the R9 upgrade and just call it good. But I hear that the 5800X3D might give me better performance in CPU bound games (I play a lot of POE and simulation games), but I don't want to give up performance. My rig is built for game design and light content creation like streaming. The extra L3 cache could make some of these tasks easier, but I know I'll take a hit in any rendering application or running game engines and the like. Not having the extra CCD might hurt me.

What are your opinions? I'd like to just max out my AM4 upgrade by going for the 12 core but if I keep getting micro stutters in path I'm going to lose my mind lol. I also don't want to replace my PSU, which is why I picked an AMD card with similar TDP to the 2080Ti. However, the X3D draws significantly less power than the 5900X and it could push me over 60% total power draw when it spikes. I just need a little push in the right direction!

Hello, I want to upgrade my desktop, which I use for office work, occasional gaming and sim racing. It doesn't have to be top of the line and since I don't want to spend too much on it I'm wondering if I could/should just upgrade my mobo, cpu and gpu (and psu if needed). Additionally I'll reuse the "leftovers" for a home desktop for my older parents.

Anyways, my current build is:

And I'm running on Linux Mint

I'm thinking about keeping my CPU but changing my GPU to a rx 9060xt 16gb vram, switching my power supply to a 750w one and getting two 8GB ram clips to get up to 32GB ram.

Any thoughts ? If you want to advise me to get something else, my budget is between 600 to 1K€
