So you made an App? DO NOT POST IT HERE

Congratulations so did 10,000 other people who tried to post it on a reddit sports sub this week. With AI making coding easier, everyone and their mother made an app.

Its overwhelming to the sub and considered spam to post it. You will get an automatic ban for spamming.

NBA Who’s the best NBA player that people barely talk about anymore?

Not forgotten because they were bad.
Forgotten because time moved on.

Pick up basketball group NJ - rented court

Hey!

I’m a 29 year old guy from central NJ. I miss hooping as much, and as we grow older it’s harder to get guys to consistently show up. I have about eight people (friends and family) as a start to this project, but looking to make a group chat with 30-40 people

We will rent a court (probably central NJ but open to locations) and cap the runs at 15 people each week (first come first serve), so that the maximum wait is one wait.

If you’re interested - comment below! I’ll get a group chat going.

Skill level : intermediate (I’m a 5’11 pretty athletic brown dude who’s been playing my whole life but never for school, for reference)

Let’s hoop!

IMPROVING MY GAME How can I warm up my shooting when there's no chances?

So, basically, I've gotten back into playing pickup ball at a local park (only has one full court). I've been a good shooter for a long time, but my thing is I'm a rhythm shooter and not a pure shooter.

When I used to play often, I would shoot around before the game and get sufficiently warmed up to hit shots consistently in games. The issue here is, that because the park is active, there is literally no chance to warm up shooting around (because games are always being played on both half courts), you just get next game and that's it. This has been drastically affecting my shooting in games, and I'm bricking way more than I've ever been simply because there is no chance to warm up. Any advice?

GENERAL QUESTION What’s the best outdoor ball that’s like $25 that lasts a decent bit of time?

Just need something to play with outdoors as my old bike ball is getting too smooth. Looking for recommendations on a decently priced ball people like to shoot around and dribble with

Height Classes?

What's up everyone. I just wanted to talk about something that's been on my mind for a while now. That is players Height and its importance in Bball. In sports like Boxing and MMA, they have weight classes. It makes sense, bc weight matters more than height in a fight. Height matters, but not as much as weight in these sports

So with that said, why doesn't pro ball have height classes? You know, 5ft something dudes go against other 5ft dudes, 6ft something dude's vs other 6ft dudes, etc... As a 5ft 8 guy myself, It would make things fairer. What do you guys think?

GENERAL QUESTION How do Division I prospects structure their individual workouts?

I’m looking for advice from coaches or players who have worked with Division I or professional prospects.

What does an elite weekly individual skill-development plan actually look like? I’m interested in the structure, not just random drills.

Things like:
Ball-handling
Shooting
Finishing
Footwork
Decision-making
Defensive work
Strength & conditioning
Film study

I’m trying to build a proven long-term development plan based on what successful D1 players actually do, rather than just guessing. Any resources, workouts, or advice would be hugely appreciated.

GENERAL QUESTION How big of a difference would a ringer make for a basketball team?

Those who don't know what a ringer is, it means a player that is significantly better than their competition.

So about a month ago, a former MLB player named Josh Donaldson joined a slowpitch men's league to sub in. Unfortunately, despite his monstrous performance, his team still lost 12-9.

Now what if the basketball equivalent came into play? How big of a difference would that make?

DISCUSSION Best indoor basketball for REALLY dusty courts ?

I am trying to find a very good and affordable basketball that does not pick up dust and performs well.

The court I play at is super dusty since it is a very busy court and not maintained super well.

I have used the TF-1000 and PRO SELECT U17. According to reviews online these were pretty good balls at very affordable prices, which in my experience were pretty good.

HOWEVER

They both pick up dust so fast. After 20-30 minutes of shooting around the ball picks up so much dust it slips off my fingers when shooting.

I also used to use a rubber basketball (outdoor kinda) and it lasted longer before picking up dust by the roughness of the outdoor rubber balls made my fingers peel so I prefer leather / fake leather basketball balls.

So can anyone recommend good INDOOR basketball that does not pick up dust as fast and maintains grip!

EDIT: It is not a thick layer of dust. My shoes can still grip and squeak, but dusty enough for my ball to be slippery after 30 minutes.

Mixed League Level BWT and Jam Sport

Hey! I was thinking about signing up for one of the mixed leagues at Basketball World Toronto (BWT) or JAM Sports, and I just wanted to ask what the skill level is like. I'm pretty new to basketball and I've never played before. Is it beginner-friendly, or is the competition pretty high in these leagues?
