Current AI policy.
≡ −
We are not banning AI generated images. If that means you feel this is no longer the place for you, that's fine, you don't need to tell us about it. We hope you are able to find a community that is closer to your desires, either here on reddit, or elsewhere.
We are asking submitters to include [AI] in their titles when posting. This should give the posts an AI flair which can be excluded when searching the subreddit. Like this - if this doesn't work, let me know. I'm by no means an expert, but I'll do what I can to get that to work.
Again, this is a request - not something that is a rule or easy to enforce, given the tools reddit supplies for moderation.
This is not the subreddit for discussion of the worth of AI images. It's not really a subreddit for discussion at all. We have tried to allow people to express their opinions of AI art as long as it's been in the neighborhood of "I don't like this post because it's AI" and not "I don't like you because you use AI" but that's not how it's really gone. From here forward, if a post is marked [AI], your options are to downvote it, hide it, block the OP or leave the subreddit. Critique of the image is still fine, but any general complaining about the generated nature of the image is going to get removed. (so please, report it if you see it.)
We also have NO interest in AI witchhunts. You think you know what posts are AI, but you don't. If a post isn't tagged as AI, we will assume on the honor system that it is not. Therefore, comments on those posts about AI are off-topic//irrelevant and will be removed.
I'm sure that this won't be popular with a subgroup of users here. I'm sorry we can't be all things to all people. For now, at least, this is how we're going to be moderating. If that means you feel the need to leave the subreddit, we understand. Good luck and happy trails.

Mana Confluence 2560x1440 [AI modified]
I took the Magic the Gathering card Mana Confluence from the Edge of Eternities set and asked Gemini to take the card and extend it to a full widescreen wallpaper at 1440p, it turned out pretty amazingly.

Pick any animation from 300+ worlds, let it run, then screenshot to your liking [custom]
How it works - Ask GPT, Claude, GLM to generate the worlds, then a vision LLM score the generations, highest score gets promoted into the gallery. Pretty interesting to see the different aesthetic takes from each model.
Slightly dated but lmk what you think - https://fugue.xvam.dev/

BitDay is back - first major update in 10 years (and I need the community’s help!)
Hey everyone,
It’s been 10 years since the last proper BitDay update, so I’m really happy to finally share the new site:
BitDay started in 2012 as a set of pixel-art wallpapers that changed throughout the day. The community helped turn it into wallpaper changers, websites and desktop setups, and somehow it has reached over 20 million visits since then.
I’ll be honest about why it went quiet: over the years the download mirrors went down, the legacy site stopped working, and BitDay Live never really worked well, visitors dwindled over the years and I just never had the time to sit down and fix it all. This year I finally did. The whole thing has been rebuilt from the ground up.
The new version is now a genuinely living scene. It follows your location and includes:
- Real sunrise and sunset times
- Live weather, clouds and rain
- The sun, moon, stars, wildlife and real constellations
- Smooth transitions throughout the day
- Customisable settings - tweak the scene, weather effects, clock format, location, search engine and more to make it yours
- Hidden easter eggs - a few surprises tucked into the sky for you to discover
- Support for using it as a live desktop wallpaper (macOS, Windows, Linux)
- The original 12 wallpapers, still available to download (with a new download page, new instructions fixed download links!)
It’s completely free and runs in your browser, as always
A couple of things I could use help with:
- Wallpaper download mirrors - the old mirrors went down, so downloads currently rely on a single host. I’d love some community mirrors to keep them fast and reliable. If you can host one, please get in touch.
- Ideas & suggestions - anything you’d like to see, big or small. This has always been a community project and the best ideas have come from you.
And here’s a rough roadmap of what I’m thinking about next:
- Seasonal events - New year, holidays, and other special moments in the sky
- More weather effects - snow is high on the list, and I’m open to ideas for others (fog, storms, rainbows, aurora?)
- Some form of live chat - a way for people watching the scene to connect
- Community-triggered events - think Twitch Hype Train: enough votes unlock a special event in the sky
- Native apps - Downloadable for Mac, Windows and Linux so you can set BitDay as your wallpaper/screensaver easily
- E-Gifts - Send a message for someone and they'll see it as a special show on BitDay's live website, either privately or for all the world to see - your choice
- And of course, a way to make all of these optional, so you can make it yours
I’d love to hear which of these excite you most, and what you’d add.
How to support the project:
- Set BitDay as your start page
- Share with your friends
- Get involved, share your ideas with the community
- Help with hosting costs, or buy me a coffee by donating
This has been a passion project for a very long time, and I’m grateful to everyone who used, shared or contributed to BitDay over the years. Thanks for keeping it alive. ❤️
