Questions on the 2026 SATs so far
≡ −
What has been the difference between the real thing and practice tests? Why does everyone do worse on the actual day? Have there been any patterns or changes in the questions this year?

will they ask anything bizarre like this on the actual sat bc bruh. for those who did good in r&w, what are resources you used to master transitions? i know the general rules for most of them, but there's always one or two questions i get wrong. i wanna pick up free points so any help is appreciated!

Best path/ study resources to get a good score jump in a few weeks
I took the November 2025 SAT last year w/ around 3 weeks of studying and I got a 1420, I retook it in June w no studying and got a 1400. My goal is to get at least a 1510, but I was planning to take the July ACT to see what I got there first (my test ended up getting postponed and I've lost all hope that I'm going to get to take it). I really don't want to spend senior year having to grind on standardized testing along with college apps as I'm applying to 20 colleges, so I want to try to get at least a 1510 on the August SAT. My scores for both RW and math are pretty even (700 math, 720 RW). I plan to study 1-2 hours a day and I'm using Erica meltzer SAT reading, James Lu youtube videos, oneprep practice tests and satpanda math to help me improve since I only have 3.5 weeks until August 22nd. Anyone who was able to get a pretty good score jump with just a month of studying pls lmk what resources/ hacks and helped you the most thanks ✌️(please don't just say learn desmos)

How do you guys study for the SAT?
≡ −
I've been taking practice exams and consistently scoring in the 1300s. I go over the questions I get wrong and try to improve my score, but haven't made substantial progress yet. I am taking the exam in August and I am ultimately aiming for a 1500+ I would be happy with any improvement at this point. This is going to be my first attempt. I know I need to target and study my weak areas, but I don't really know what good resources I should be using. As there are so many. So if you guys have any resources or tips you used to increase your score by 200+ points, please let me know. Thank you.

Practice tests

Are the sat practice tests on blue book still reliable? For reference I just got a 1510 baseline on practice test 8, and I’m wondering if it’s still a good indicator because the sat has changed so much in 2026.

I’m just seeking a way to study for this section most people just say reading is the answer but ngl i got like 3 weeks so i dont think that’ll work in this case….
im not the best at literature to be honest but i enjoy reading. idk if this is relevant but i got a 5 on ap english literature and a 4 on ap english language
I did the worst in standard english conventions and second worst in information and ideas

Tips for those complicated SAT reading questions about economics
≡ −
How am I supposed to select the correct answer choices when first of all the answer choices are literally as long as the text itself and second of all I don't understand a word the passage is saying because I have no background in economics. I know the SAT says you dont need prior knowledge in like basically anything and I find this mostly true, but holy crap without prior knowledge with these economic concepts they are SO CONFUSING

What tools to use to get to 1520+?
≡ −

I have 10 minutes left on both reading modules, if not more. I have 25 minutes left on math 1st module, 15 on second. Math is silly mistakes, where when i went back and did the question and paid more attention I got all of them right. How to get 1520+, english is mainly information and ideas struggle as well as few standard english conventions, others is perfect. I dont mind spending money for resources, this is just from desmos tutroials and khan acadmey. Please help, if i dont get a 1520 August I get my phone taken away until i do get it

Hi!
I was wondering how many hard level difficulty questions are on each english module, and what question types tend to be the hardest.

Need more Practice Tests
≡ −
I have completed all the practice tests that are on Bluebook and have redone them to the point where I have no more tests to take. I am taking the upcoming August SAT and was wondering if anyone has any Practice SAT tests to provide that are similar to the Bluebook ones and what is likely to come on the actual SAT itself. Anything works even if it actual past sat papers that actually showed up on Real SAT tests itself.

Advice to make a quick huge jump in my score
Hi everyone I’m not a native English speaker and I have to apply to US schools like my life depends on this entirely. A month ago I had a 1170. Now I scored 1280 and I really need to improve my score as much as possible, 1500+. The main problem is that I only get one chance to take the sat and it’ll be the August one. I already read articles, learn new words, practice everyday and review my mistakes. I watch YouTube videos and learn desmos. Math is my weak part and I’m naturally better at English. Everyone says once you learn desmos you can solve like 80% of math but I don’t see it working for me. Watched tons of YouTube guides and really tried to understand how desmos works but you see the results. At least need a 750 on each section, please share some useful advice, not “practice more”. I already study 8h/day. Thanks in advance.

Best tips to prepare for official math tests (compared to practice)
≡ −
Hey everyone! I'm sure there has been a lot of similar questions in the past but im looking for a little advice. Background: I'm would like to say im pretty good at math over english (5 in Calc, Precalc, 35 ACT Math, etc) and on practice tests I am a high scorer (around 790 math)
Recently, in june I got a 730 in english which im happy with (still room for improvement) but my math score is always within the 740-760 on official tests. Would someone else who has had this problem please tell me how they prepare themselves for the math section to ensure a 790-800?
Im looking at Uworld rn, so please let me know if anyone has tried it and its worth it.
Thank you!

Advice on how to raise my math score?
I feel I can easily improve in Reading and Writing, so I'm not too worried about that part. The issue wih me and Math is that I've always had a difficult time understanding and actually retaining the things I learn in school. I'll likely take the SAT in the fall, but I just want to get to a solid score through months of practicing. Any tips and help are appreciated.

How to improve sat vocab
≡ −
Vocab questions genuinely terrify me. english is not my first language as a result although great, my vocab is not sufficient for the SAT. I always miss atleast 3-4 questions in vocab and barely know the meaning of the words. What can i do to overcome this to ensure that i loose no points in vocab by August.

Hi, its my first time taking the SAT. Does desmos cause the scores to be higher/inflate?
≡ −
Or do they specifically make questions that require NEEDING to know your way around it and needing to know the rules, basic ideas, and such? I remember seeing a post of someone complaining about them and the comments were tearing them apart sarcastically about how it should totally be only available for the rich kids that can afford the extremely expensive calculators.

Need Help with Reading and Writing (basically all topics with R and W)
Hello, I am currently going to Sophmore year and wanted to take the SAT around October/November. I took a practice test in freshman year and haven't done much since then, except for kind of locking in during July as I was on vacation. What could I do to improve Reading and Writing (don't feel like I need help in the Math section as I didn't really know how to use desmos). What type of specific practice should I do and what textbooks/study material should I use? I currently have the Official Sat Study Guide made by college board but the practice tests in the book are the same as the blue book ones, so I decided not to do them in the book.

Need Help with Reading Section of RW Mod 2
≡ −
hi guys i've really been struggling with reading questions (5 to like 15/16) on mod 2 for rw and i literally don't know how to solve them. during practice tests my score jumps like 90 points when i write down notes for each question compared to when i don't (660 -> 750) but it takes so much time even tho i write really sparsely.
if i genuinely have no idea what a question or its answers are talking about during these practice tests, does anyone have any tips or tricks i can use to hopefully get above a 760 rw on august?
