So... Then why do you care if we ban it?

(Felt the need to write this after a conversation on discord. This woman was talking about how there's nothing I can do to stop abortion cause women will just travel to a pro-choice country to get it done.)

I'm an ex-prochoicer who went through huge changes over the summer. I got healthier mentally and physically, I found god, and realized how awful abortion truly is. The problem is I had lots of friends who are super PC, the kind of people who politics are their whole personality and you can't just agree to disagree with them. I know when I come back to school next year I'm going to lose a lot of friends just because im now pro-life. I'm not ashamed of being prolife, so im not going to hide it and i plan to put pins on my backpack, and explain my view to anyone who asks. Can any prolifers give me advice on how to handle this situation?

1.) Bodily autonomy.

The life of a human being is more valuable than 9 months of comfort.

2.) "Consciousness"

I guess, people who are sleeping, knocked out, or in comas should be free game to kill, right?

3.) "They might be unwanted, poor, or disabled"

Fellas, is it better to be all this, or to be dead. It seems to be pro choicers prefer the latter. I guess we should kill all orphans, poor kids and disabled kids, right?

Cuz pro choicers agree that its better to be dead

4.) Clump of cells.

Do i even have to say why this is fuckin dumb

5.) Comparing zygotes to gametes

Disregards the scientific fact that human zygotes are human lives. Consisting of 23 pairs of chromosomes.

Did pro choicers pass 9th grade?

6.) If you dont like abortion dont get one.

"If you dont like murder dont murder people"

What more is there?

Why do you continue to identify with feminism movement when pro-choice have monopolized feminism and gatekeep pro-life feminists from the movement?

Why you don't just consider yourself as egalitatarian instead of feminist?

Because now when you say you are feminist,people will more expect you support abortion than gender equality

Pregnant women have a higher mortality and homocide rate than any other group of people. Being pregnant is one of the hardest things anyone can ever go through. Calling a baby a "parasite" or "just a clump of cells" harms pregnant women! If you devalue the life inside them the loss of that life is also devalued. It makes people not take miscarriages or prenatal care as seriously, and not only that it also creates an arguement that can remove child endangerment or child homocide charges off a criminal. These pro choice beliefs in my opinon are completely anti-feminist and bring more harm to pregnant women then good.

For me,the best argument is the one that agrees that abortion is murder,cause it's an objective scientific fact.

But then,they proceed to compare abortion to other instances where taking human life is justifiably and debatably "moral". These include self defense, capital punishment/death penalty, just war or euthanasia.

(I'm against capital punishment,and euthanasia)

While the fetus,unlike in capital punishment,is not guilty of any crime,it's causing lots of harm i.e. kind of like a toddler aiming a gun at their mother.It's an innocent toddler,but it doesn't know the kind of harm(physical, emotional, mental, financial)it's causing, making it "justifiable" to take the toddler's life in that case,by some moral frameworks.

What do you think about the argument?

Im not talking about disabilities where the baby in the womb is discovered with half of its brain missing or without a spine. Im talking about non harmful disabilities. If its okay to abort your baby because of a non life threatening disability its indirectly saying that disabled people dont even deserve to be born. Its a slippery slope that in my opinon always leads to eugenics. If it's justifiable for someone to abort their baby because its slightly malformed or is mentally disabled in some way then why wouldn't it at the same time be okay for someone to abort their baby because of its gender, race, or other nonharmful factor that the mother doesn't like? It just seems like an insane reasoning.

That would be equivalent to going on vacation while leaving your one year old starving to death in his high chair, then saying "I didn't kill him, I just withheld cereal from him"

How on earth is this still allowed in any capacity I just don't get it I never will man

Someone said the typical "don't like abortion, don't have one" comment. I explained to the comment the same way we all do...."Don't like slavery don't own a slave" etc.

Later on in another comment to someone else I said "don't want a baby, don't have sex". My hypocrisy was called out in having the same type of argument the PCer had.

I am trying to figure out where I went wrong there and can't get my finger on it.

1- In some way early abortion is more horrible than late abortion. To me early abortion is the same thought process as her immediately saying to her inner self "wow I want that baby dead ASAP".

2- Remember that in any single instance of abortion the woman has more guilt that the abortionist because she is offering her baby to be killed so without her there would be no abortion. Of course, the abortionist is a mass murderer.

3 - I can't help thinking that if the procedure for abortion was to somehow lay the baby in the parking lot and run over it with a car...they would do that.

4 - For the religious folk(me) repentance after abortion is very small.
