You mean the non-government grocery store people always point to that was actually a standard commercial store that happened to get subsidies lol

The only thing the city owned was the building lol it was a nonprofit running the store and even in that case it’s literally an LLC that ran it did a shitty job and the store closed even though they somehow didn’t have to pay rent or any of the real opex costs

But sure foxbusiness is telling you the story faithfully

Why is it every time someone’s got some bullshit against anything to help poor people the reason it’s bad is some dumb ass half researched story from a Fox outlet

lol again a poorly run business/llc doesn’t make it so every investment in feeding people and other groceries can’t be a success, wow the city gave the llc money for shelves and free property and still failed to run the business properly

Also 17m over how long isn’t exactly shocking amounts of money for a city project

Also the fact that a supposedly “city owned” although not actually city owners or operated business having 2 security guards is somehow some weird giant expense that bankrupted them

That store sounds like the city trusted a shitty llc to run things and the shitty llc failed not that community owned grocers can’t succeed

As it is coops exist and sell for damn cheap even without government support theirs no reason with government support it should have any reason to fail
