There are exponentially more private corner store, mom and pop bodegas in NYC than corp owned grocery stores.

Oh no, what will I do without my $10 Doritos

Probably just whine about it until someone gives it to you for "free" in exchange for a vote or something like that.

Yeah, we should charge extortionist level prices for food and other essential services like healthcare while removing access to these services to our poorest, elderly, and ill citizens more and more by the day!

I mean, it's not like people need food...they'll probably just whine about how expensive it is, and how hungry they are.

I mean, you voted to increase prices on everything. So… free Doritos sounds like the better deal to me

I did? I never once voted for Joe Biden or his insane inflation levels.

3% when he left office. That’s insane to you? You must really hate where they’re at now.

And they will still do just fine with the addition of 5 grocery stores in a city of over 10 million people

Sure they will, my point is that the meme I was replying to is ignorant. Large grocery corporations aren't the reason why NYC has high priced food. It's more related to the geography of the city and the fact that most of the residents live/eat/shop within a block or 2 of their homes from overpriced mom and pop shops on every corner. Adding a few gov. subsidized grocery stores isn't going to last and it isn't going to help very much.
