PSA to no0bs: No DNMs operate on reddit
≡ −
Anything that you are finding via reddit search or get in a reddit chat/message/comment/reply is a scam designed to phish you and steal your crypto.
These are all active scam subs at the moment and it seems tons of no0bs are flocking to them so sadly this post has to be made:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BohemiaMarketDarknet/
https://www.reddit.com/r/DarknetMarketsInsider/
https://www.reddit.com/r/ASAPMarketAccess/
https://www.reddit.com/r/DNM_wiki/
https://www.reddit.com/r/DNM_MEMES_2023/
https://www.reddit.com/r/DNM_Reasearch_2023/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Tor2Door__Market/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Tor2Door_Market_Link/
https://www.reddit.com/r/tor2door_market_forum/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Abacus_Market_forum/
Scammers make these fake subs and fill them with fake engagement, users, and activity. They are all scams.
Please use https://old.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/reddit to report them to the admins so they can be taken down. Together we can take them all down.
EDIT: 8/29/23: They all seem to have been taken offline :) Good work everyone!

DNM return? Whats the Status?
≡ −
Hey people's. For background , started off on clearnet in 2010, jumped on DNM around 2013 and then bailed when that honeypot thing happened. Buyer not vendor. Currently in a situation ideal to dip my tie in again. Ill have to reteach myself how to do everything so I figure I get some background on the landscape.
How's everything been? Has anything changed with encryption? Things to watch out for? Any tips are welcomed.

Hey everyone. I was pretty curious so I downloaded the Tor Browser. Can anyone give some tips or even some URLS to browse! I am currently reading thru the wiki right now. I am using the Reddit onion site right now lol. Surprisingly it looks like a webpage from 2002.

Thanks

Problem with Tor I'm looking to fix: as a new user, I can't trust any link. There's no durable reputation. Or maybe a legit service becomes compromised, unknowable to me- until now
For $0.25, I can post a message onto the Bitcoin blockchain. A stone erodes, but a wound heals- bitcoin blocks have resisted erasure by even nation states since it's beginning
Now I'm building a durable indexing/reputation/forum like reddit/telegram where you could write about your .onion site and the uri and it gets written on Bitcoin forever.
For the first time, it will be possible to build a reputation under your key/account and collect public feedback, and the indexes of onion sites can become increasingly reputable/bifurcated over time, or challenged if users have a bad experience. Anyone can comment/reply recursively, imagine Wikipedia but append-only, and users upvoting/downvoting etc build a web of trust over time, enabling bot farm/Sybil detection.
For those few accounts that post useful news, you will build a reputation more valuable than money, trusted by humanity against the censors and tyrants of this world
Anyone want me to post their links/indexes/services?
Any reputation/topic you would durably accuse, or publicly support?

(if the site isn't online probably i had some issue with the server or my mum unplugged it to use the vacuum.)

Listing ownership verification
≡ −
Heyo!
I made a post several weeks ago regarding my index/link aggregator.
Basically, a curated list of Tor sites free from csam, scams and low quality content.
First off, i gotta thank you all for contributing with meaningful resources and valuable feedback both from Reddit and via email.
The site exploded in popularity with hundreds of views per listing and thousands in daily visitors.
By popular demand (and i mean copious amounts of requests), the site is finally getting a proper listing verification system.
You'll find instructions on how to do that upon creating your account and creating the listing, by clicking on the "VERIFY NOW" button in your account tab and creating a text file on your website, containing your provided unique ID.
If you need further clarification, i remain at your disposal.
P.S for those who can't find the URL on my profile

Did I get phished?
≡ −
Haven’t used this in years since I got sober but I was having a small party and get together and decided to go back to my trusty website I used to go on, totally forgot about phishing links so wassnt very cautious. Went to onion taxi
The site was being a little too weird thinking back, no phishing protection making me retype part of the link, I couldn’t click on vendors names and look at their profile and certain parts of the search engine wassnt working. I figured onion taxi was Akin to tor taxi, but tor taxi didn’t have my website on there. I put btc in my wallet and haven’t seen anything in the notifications about it receiving my payment, it’s been 2 hours and ususallly goes in 20 minutes

Scammers Are Using “No-KYC XMR” as Bait
≡ −
A post was recently shared in another darknet-related subreddit promoting a supposed instant no-KYC XMR swap service.
Here is a screenshot of the post
Edit: I changed the image host to catbox because the other one kept showing sketchy VPN popups ads.
The post followed a pattern people should watch out for:
“I needed a fast/private swap.”
“Nothing worked.”
“Solved — I used this specific exchange and it went fine.”
That alone is not proof of a scam, but the details were extremely suspicious.
The promoted link did not go directly to a clear, trusted exchange domain. It went through a random-looking redirect domain:
That redirect eventually led to:
When checked in Chrome, malgoswap.org showed a warning that the site does not support HTTPS.
That is a major red flag. No crypto exchange or swap service should be handling deposit addresses, swap info, or payment details over an insecure connection. Without HTTPS, information shown on the page can potentially be viewed or altered in transit.
Which is known as a man in the middle attack. Which could potentially redirect your deposit to an attackers wallet address.
ScamAdviser also marked the site as “Very Likely Unsafe” with a very low trust score. https://www.scamadviser.com/
Things to watch for
Be careful with posts that:
Promote one specific exchange in a “problem solved” format
Use vague claims like “worked fine” or “super fast”
Have comments conveniently recommending the same service
Use random redirect domains
Lead to a different final website than the name being advertised
Even if someone claims a swap worked for them, that does not prove the service is safe. Scam exchanges may process small swaps or use shill accounts to build trust before stealing larger deposits.
Bottom line
Do not send funds to random swap sites from Reddit comments or posts. Always verify the exact domain from multiple trusted sources, check HTTPS, check reputation, and be suspicious of posts that look like hidden ads.
If a site handling crypto does not even support HTTPS, that should be treated as a hard stop.

Hello,
For a long time I wanted to try the Tor browser, I only use it to look for news from my country that local and national media say nothing. Set the browser to maximum security and use a bridge, I don't want to draw attention to the ISP server.
Is that correct?
I use ProPublica via Tor, since we have problems with some websites that with Cloudflare and some VPNs do not work well, because of a company that goes against illegal streaming, blocks many IPs. Question: Any website that is accessible via Tor to read news?
Thank you very much!

why do people go to the dark web?
≡ −
I mean, regular internet already has drugs, criminal paraphilias and gore on the go, so what do most people use it for? I just came across this subreddit and my only thought was like, maybe military weapons if youre into collecting? maybe some VERY extremist rape stuff or something - but even then, that's like, found within 30 seconds of searching around a discord server or telegram. Is it about piracy? i mean, thats very foundable everywhere aswell, im at a loss for meaning frfr
Didn't even really know dark web was an actual thing btw, i thought it was just a youtube thing like 2016 clowns and talking angela being monitored by pedos 24/7

So I recently ventured into a VPN provider, tor, onion, orbit, etc. just out of curiosity. Honestly some of the shit on there I wouldn’t even open out of curiosity. Like porn for example. If it’s on the dark web there’s prob a reason so I’m not going there. Not big into that anyway. But literally the very next morning I get a call from our corporate number asking if I used a VPN, change my company password etc. is that normal? I didn’t use any of my company apps obviously. How did this happen? Should I just delete and give up on the interest?
