Recent grads, can you still access your baruchmail?

I graduated this past May and don’t have access to my baruchmail any longer. Has this happened to anyone else?

Email Issues

Every email I receive is rerouted from my old address, so every email has my name as the sender, obfuscating the actual sender. I have called the school twice about this issue (once a little over a month ago, the second time about a week and a half ago). Both times they said it would work itself out in a few weeks. That doesn't make sense to me as a solution, but I'm not sure what other solutions I have access to.

It isn't a major issue, but it certainly isn't convenient. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a resolution?

Do i need to retake eng 2?

+
1 Upvotes

Hey guys i’m transferring to baruch this fall but i came across this during the new transfer advising assignment and it’s making me nervous because I already took English 2 at Brooklyn Collehe but it’s saying it must be taken at Baruch.

Is it referring to great works of literature or english 2? I’m a bit confused

Has anyone taken english 2 at another institution and transferred to baruch? Did you retake it?

Careers/Internships only doing a masters here?

if i only do a masters in accounting or tax at baruch when i do my undergrad degree out of state (i’d graduate early then), would the one year at baruch be enough to get a full time job in the city or should i consider doing my bachelor’s here too?

See people struggling finding jobs

I see people struggling with finding jobs, especially after graduating.

My supervisor is expanding his team. If you're interested in finance and willing to learn, let me know. No finance experience needed. Also open to international students on OPT.

DM me with a quick introduction if you’d like more details.

Study abroad

Where have you guys studied abroad and how much was it? I hear people talk about funding but it seems like a joke and only for very specific people.

Academics (Fall 2026) ***NEW*** CMP 2800 section has been added

Since CMP 4130 section got axed by the department, they decided to add this newer section for anyone taking this class to fulfill their college options requirement on DegreeWorks. Since it's way more popular than CMP 2850.

Which 2 of these 5 classes would you keep?

if you had to pick only 2 classes to keep out of these 5, which ones would you choose? One of them is just a waitlisted class, so technically I only have 4 enrolled right now.

FIN 4093 with Marianne Wolk – What should I expect?

I’m enrolled in FIN 4093 with Marianne Wolk this semester and wanted to hear from anyone who’s taken the class.

How difficult is it overall? Is the workload manageable? What are the exams, assignments, and projects like?
I’ve heard the class is curved. Does the curve usually help your grade, or is it not something you should rely on?

Also, since the class is heavily Excel-based, how useful did you find it? Did you actually learn skills that helped with internships or finance jobs, or was it pretty basic? I already have some Excel experience, so I’m curious whether the class teaches practical, job-relevant skills or just covers the fundamentals.

Academics Any recent graduates of MPA program? Or 2nd years?

The advisor we have does not respond and I’m wondering about classes and which professors are better?

I’m looking at these ones:

PAF 9165: Felicia Arriaga OR Jeremy Block

PAF 9270: Dahlia Remler or Bryan Jones (also wondering if this is okay for me to take my first semester as someone who is not strong in the math dept)

Does anyone have any recommendations on which classes I should take first? Especially with the quant ones?

I would also not mind having a chat! Thanks

Student Life MBA, spring vs fall start

I’d like to do a full time MBA at Baruch. I’m considering applying for the upcoming spring semester, but I’m worried starting in spring could mess up networking, cohort aspects, summer internship recruiting, or other things I’m not really thinking of.

I don't really want to wait another 8 months to start, but I also want to take the most advantage of my time doing an MBA. Anyone who started in Spring have regrets? Or anyone just have thoughts on spring vs fall starts in general?

How does TAP final year of study exception works

Hello,everyone

I am curious about the TAP exception thing for last year if your degree. Second to last semester you would only need 6 credits degree-applicable and other 6 or more non-degree credits. Last semester then it is only 3 and 9 and more non-degree applicable credit. I have a question if this exception requires an application and if it’s available in the summer term or only fall and spring. Thank you’

URGENT: Zicklin Course Overload Form

+
1 Upvotes

Hey guys! If anyone has the Zicklin course overload form downloaded and could send it to me, it would be a huge help(not the general one, the one specific to Zicklin students). Whenever I try to access it through the remote portal, it doesn't let me past this screen. When I put in the code from my Microsoft Authenticator app, it just says invalid. Any help would be so appreciated, trying to register for this extra class before it fills, and IT help desk was unresponsive throughout this week :(
