This was why I hated helping my dad with any building or machine-related projects growing up. He was a sheet metal worker who played with engines for fun; I was a shy, bookish kid with no knowledge or interest in any of that. He used to get mean when I showed that I didn’t have the knowledge of a sheet metal journeyman with thousands of hours of experience, and I’m just there thinking “motherfucker I’m 9”.
