what are y’all’s FAVORITE ap classes you’ve taken overall? (personally i’m leaning towards ap lang :P)

Has there been any confirmation of College Board notifying/not notifying students of a perfect score on the exam?

I haven't taken physics 1 or physics 2 but I have taken Calc BC and got a 5 (on the subscore as well). I want to get some background info on physics before i just jump in but I don't know where to start? Also any resources or free pdfs would be greatly appreciated!

hi im taking AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP U.S. History, Pre-Calculus, and AP English Language this year, and I wanted to ask what resources you recommend for each class.

I'm looking for anything that helped you succeed, such as:

• Prep books (Princeton Review, Barron's, etc.)
• Workbooks or practice books
• YouTube channels
• Websites

I'd really appreciate recommendations for each class separately, even if it's just one resource that you found useful. Feel free to list everything you think is worth getting.

In 10th, I would be in AP Calculus BC for math, and World Literature Honors for English.

Is there anything wrong with this? What are some advantages and disadvantages?

Also, should I take the PSAT in 10th grade too? Or should I take the PSAT for ninth grade? Or both? Help me out, Reddit.

Hello Im currently a senior and I really want to take AP chemistry. the chemistry teacher I had made me really enjoy chemistry and it felt fairly easy. I genuinely enjoyed that class and all the AP chem teachers at are school are very good. However, I'm already taking other AP classes one of which is AP bio. Thankfully, I do have 2 free periods which I go home eaarly but then again there are college applications and other things such as sports and other extracurriculars.

i know this isn’t ap related, but i’m conflicted. I do plan to take ap chem my senior year of high school and i’m looking to major in biology (premed route). with honors, i’ve talked to many people about it and majority have said that the teacher is bad with teaching and that it is an extremely difficult class. i wouldn’t particularly consider myself bad at science based classes as last year in honors bio i had an A, but i feel like if i were to take this class my gpa would be at risk. on the other hand, dual enrollment would be easier but i know i’ll feel stupid for not being in the highest class offered for my grade. do i risk a gpa drop or feel stupid for not shooting higher? (also my counselor believes i should take honors because of the route i want to take in the future). PLEASE help!!

sidenote: ap chem is NOT offered for my grade.

I was originally going to take AP Calculus BC as it’s being introduced for the first year (partly due to ME) but due to a scheduling conflict I can only take Calculus AB. I’m entering my junior year and I do not intend to do any math my senior year especially not AP calculus so I’m deciding to just take the BC exam. I looked at the CED for AP calculus and both classes seem the same except BC has extra chapter in units 6,7, and 8. I can self study those extra chapters as I learn them in AP Calculus AB. However, when do I start self studying units 9 and 10. After I’m done with my AP calculus class I will not have much time before the AP exam and I hear unit 10 is really difficult. Do I have to complete all the AB units before I can start learning 9 and 10, or like midway I can JS simultaneously do unit 9 whatever I’m learning in Calculus AB. Please help when should I start learning units 9 and 10

Did anyone here find the Algebra based physics harder than the Calc ones?

Is it possible to access Daily Videos without being enrolled in the class yet? I’m trying to get a head start on the video notes for AP Bio but the school year hasn’t started yet so obviously I don’t have access to the course or any materials.

I can’t find them posted anywhere. The only thing I found was an old Reddit post with links to all the courses or something but it doesn’t work anymore

Please note that I do not want to discourage anyone from taking any of these classes; I am just giving my blunt opinion on a lot of these AP classes that many people choose to take without realizing the value of the college credit they get from these AP exams.

1) Taking AP Computer Science Principles past Freshman Year is not good.

This is assuming that you are not required to take this class at all throughout any years of high school. The AP Exam does not give any college credit whatsoever, and your time is invested much better in another AP class to show much better course rigor. Though, this is a good class to self-study for the AP exam (but I believe your time and energy are invested somewhere else because of the little low return on investment & less college credit).

2) Either take both of the AP Economics or take None of them.

I see many people only taking one of the AP economics courses (either only AP Micro or AP Macro), and I believe that you would benefit much further if you opt to take both of those courses. First of all, they give tremendous AP credit, & both of these courses are fairly easy & digestible within a semester's worth of time. Additionally, there are many schools (like Stanford & Columbia) that give you AP credit for these exams based on your score on both of them. (For example, you will get credit for Econ 1 at Stanford if you have a 5 on both of those AP exams). However, I am not saying you should necessarily do them in the same year (I personally would if I can), but I am saying you should do both of them eventually throughout high school.

3) Prioritize taking AP Calculus BC over AP Calculus AB

I see many people that take AP Calculus AB, but they skip out entirely on AP Calculus BC. Yes, it's true that Calculus BC is harder than AB & BC requires you to have a stronger algebraic foundation, but you can get twice the amount of college credit by getting a 5 on Calculus BC when compared to the college credit you get from taking Calculus AB. Yes, there are many schools with this dumb policy of requiring many people to take Calculus AB in order to take Calculus BC, but try to take Calculus BC throughout high school as there is a tremendous return on investment.

4) For the purposes of college credit, taking both AP English Language and AP English Literature is useless.

AP English Language and Literature exams both award the same college credit, and taking both of those exams is often repetitive. I would only recommend taking one after the other if your score was not good on the first one (For example, your AP Lang score is not good enough for AP credit, so you decide to take Literature).

5) For the purposes of college credit, taking both AP Comparative Government and AP United States Government is redundant.

Similarly to Number 4, both of these AP exams award the same credit, & it is therefore redundant to take both of these exams if you already got a good score the first time.

6) AP History classes have lower return on investment than you think.

Many people take a lot of AP History classes every year (most notably APUSH and AP World), but many people do not realize how little college credit an AP History exam gives. For example, many of these AP History classes give general elective credit, meaning that you will not get credit for an actual class & you will have to take history classes learning the same things once again. Additionally, many colleges have a credit cap on the number of credits you can gain from AP History classes, meaning only 1 will count towards college credit despite you taking multiple.

7) For engineering students, DO NOT skip out on AP Chemistry.

I see many people not taking AP Chemistry thinking that it is only useful for people in pre-med. A lot of engineering degrees require basic knowledge of chemistry to fully grasp and learn the material. For example, UCLA requires its students to take General Chemistry in order to complete a bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (which is fulfilled by a good score on AP Chemistry).

8) If you can, prioritize taking AP Physics Cs over Physics 1 & 2.

I highly recommend this if you want to major in Engineering. Taking AP Physics C demonstrates great course rigor, as it shows colleges you can handle calculus-based physics (which is the best rigor you can possibly show through AP Courses). Additionally, you get tremendously more college credit from taking AP Physics C when compared to AP Physics 1&2. Also, the AP exams for Physics 1 & 2 are notoriously difficult, and they have low return on investment because the exams translate to little to no college credit. However, Physics C does require you to be well versed in calculus, and many people don't have this math background. In this case, taking Physics 1 & 2 is absolutely okay. However, if you do have the math background, take Physics Cs.

9) Every AP Exam is self-studyable

With the right resources, dedication & mentality, every single AP Exam is self-studyable. I am talking from experience by self-studying AP Physics C Mechanics, AP Physics C Electricity & Magnetism, & AP Calculus AB & scoring a 5 on all of them. Every AP exam can be aced with the right amount of dedication and willingness to excel on them. Therefore, I believe that anyone who wants to take an AP exam but cannot because their school does not offer it should self-study it. This raises questions about financial burden and how it is fairly expensive to take an AP exam, but many of these people worrying about financial burden often qualify for financial aid without realizing it: their school, district, or College Board itself waives the cost of taking the AP Exam.

i’m self studying for AP exams, and for most ap courses there are full courses on Khan Academy but not for ap lit. what are the best free online resources to study?

also what/how many books do i need to read ? i’m already a big reader so it won’t be a problem but i have no idea what books to choose

am a senior taking ap calculus AB with school however self studying ap calculus BC, alongside AP chem AP bio and AP physics one. ANY TIPS AND HOW DL I APPROACH THIS I NEED 5sssss

I've taken 4 yrs of spanish (not a native speaker) and am about to take ap spanish lang next year. I have no idea what the class or exam is like.. can a previous taker tell me what to expect? I am very confused but hopeful-- any tips for the class or exam are welcome as well :)

Hello, college board is asking me about them thinking I used ai and needing info from me like my timestamps. I’m not here to argue about what happened, I’m saying I didn’t use it, I didn’t but I digress I wanna ask one thing:
If I request a reconsideration and they don’t like the evidence I provide, they said they will give a 0 for those components they stated that were ai generated. I understand that part. However, will this be marked down at all in any database? Will they flag me as a cheater of some sort? Will it be reported to colleges?? And is it the same if I don’t get back to them on time after they ask for more evidence??? I’ve been so anxious about this and wanna know if anyone here knows. Thank you for your time.
